    The post office was relocated to this J.T. Rhodes building in the 1920s

    In 1940 the Works Progress Administration built a new U.S. Post Office on the corner of West Park Avenue and 1st street in Lake Wales. A prime example of public works projects in the 1930s, the building displays simple but pleasant lines reminiscent of the Art Deco style, still popular at the time.
