  • Historic Virginia Key Beach Park Bathhouse

The Bath House provides showers and washrooms conveniently located to the beach.

This structure is an example of early Miami architecture based on stucco materials. The bath house contained a full complement of restroom facilities including changing rooms and showers –– just as one would find on white-only beaches. To have the same amenities as a bathhouse in Miami Beach or Crandon Beach in the era of segregation was very significant to beach visitors here. The Bath House, along with the Concession Stand, Dance Pavilion, Mini Train Station, and Carousel are listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
