The Allan Herschell Carousel is a classic model of an early American outdoor amusement ride. From the organ music to the vibrant colors of the horses and carriages, it remains a vivid example of old fashioned family entertainment. The original carousel was lost to time when the park was shut down between 1983 and 2008. The Virginia Key Beach Park Trust was able to find a carousel of the exact make and model in order to restore this important original amenity to the park. The carousel runs on weekends and holidays from noon to 5 PM. Feel free to stop by and take a ride through history.
