    The Atlantic Coast Line Depot was built in 1928 in the Mediterranean Revival Style.

    In 1911, The Atlantic Coast Line Railroad came south through Haines City and on to Lake Wales bringing new businesses and families to the small hamlet. Initially, Lake Wales was no more than a railroad and several buildings, but by 1928 the town had grown so rapidly that it necessitated the construction of the a larger train depot.
